Susannah Haight is a Toronto-based artist and cinematographer dedicated to crafting new perspectives in visual storytelling and immersive art practices. Her work returns to the essence of humanity, exploring profound connections between nature, time, and our collective existence through multidisciplinary approaches.

As a cinematographer, Haight translates movement and emotion into striking visual narratives. Merging avant-garde aesthetics with experimental storytelling, Susannah’s cinematic style is rooted in a deep understanding of compositional blocking, movement and light that create images with emotional resonance.

Informed by her background in film and performance, Haight’s visual art practice transforms ordinary spaces and objects into evocative environments that reflect humanity's relationship with the natural world. Inspired by evolutionary science, her process integrates design into the choreography, creating performative ecosystems. This approach uses principles of ecological theatre, which combines evolutionary play and sensory-driven environments as part of processes in generating movement systems. Currently Susannah is working with durational performance frameworks as a way of creating political poetic encounters with time, labour, and environmental decay.

Grounded in inclusivity and expansive inquiry, Haight’s work challenges established boundaries, opening a space for audiences to reflect on the shifting bonds between selfhood, community, and environment.
