Susannah Haight is a cinematographer based in Tkaronto, whose journey began in the world of dance. As a dancer and movement director, she developed a deep understanding of rhythm, space, and physical storytelling, which now informs her cinematic work. Her passion for visual storytelling was sparked while working on movement-driven film projects, eventually leading her to formal studies at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2020, where she refined her technical craft.
Susannah’s unique perspective as a cinematographer is shaped by her profound connection to avant-garde dance-theater and cinema. Inspired by the boundary-pushing techniques of experimental artists, she approaches cinematography as a dynamic interplay between movement, light, and emotion.
She creates frames that feel alive—infused with rhythm, unpredictability, and a willingness to explore the unconventional. This combination of physical intuition and artistic daring makes her an exceptional collaborator on projects that demand innovation and depth.
